Students enjoying a show

HFI was delighted to host some of our youngest audience members for a special showing of Theatre Works USA’s production, “Pete the Cat,” in the brand-new M&T Bank Exchange!

In an exciting blend of education and entertainment, students completed a curriculum tie-in about the external and internal character traits of Pete the Cat before attending the show. Our very own Associate Education Director, JacQuan Knox, brought the stories to life with a read-aloud video that set the stage for rich classroom discussions. We were delighted to see the dedication and creativity poured into the classwork submitted by the teachers from the 10 participating schools. Imagine the M&T Bank Exchange, resonating with the sounds of nearly 1,000 young students’ laughter, applause, and cheers, creating a symphony of joy and excitement. It was a sight to behold and a testament to the power of arts education!

HFI extends our heartfelt gratitude to our sponsors, the Maryland State Department of Education and The Citizens of Baltimore County, whose support was instrumental in making this event a reality, and to the wonderful cast and stage manager of “Pete the Cat,” for sharing their talent and creativity with us to help raise the curtain on opportunity for so many Baltimore youths!
