Champions for a Lasting Legacy

The Hippodrome Theatre, and now the M&T Bank Exchange, are a critical part of the social and cultural fabric in Baltimore. Our facility has welcomed well over 4,000,000 visitors since 2004, and the foundation has served tens of thousands of young people with free arts programming over the same period. Our team is committed to provide both enjoyment and opportunities for learning for the citizens of Maryland and we invite you to help us.

We are all grateful to supporters of the original Hippodrome Project, as well as supporters of the M&T Bank Exchange project completed in 2023.

The France-Merrick Foundation was proud to join others to support the re-opening of the Hippodrome Theatre in 2004. Over the past two decades, the France-Merrick Performing Arts Center has been a vibrant cultural landmark in our community and contributed to economic renewal in downtown Baltimore. The France-Merrick Foundation also supported the renovation of the M&T Bank Exchange building, and we are excited that so many people and organizations are using this wonderful space. The Hippodrome Theatre and the M&T Bank Exchange enhance our quality of life, and we applaud the Hippodrome Foundation’s commitment to sharing Baltimore’s beautiful performing arts center with the community.
